A Quick Tip To Avoid Being Arrested In The Caribbean

I'm going to guess that you don't have "Spend time in a Caribbean jail" on your bucket list.

I mean, I guess I could be wrong, but for the purposes of this blog, we will assume I'm not.

Today, I want to give you a quick tip that will help keep you out of a tropical hoosegow.

Don't wear camouflage in the Caribbean.

Yup.

In many Caribbean countries it is illegal to wear camouflage of ANY color.

These countries include popular tourist destinations such as Antigua & Barbuda, Barbados, Jamaica, Bahamas, Grenada, St. Lucia, St. Vincent & the Grenadines and Trinidad & Tobago.

If you are caught wearing camouflage apparel in these countries, you can be arrested.  Camouflage is for the military only and no private citizens are permitted to wear items with a camouflage pattern.

Usually, with tourists, they skip the arrest, but you will be forced to immediately change and the camouflage items will be confiscated. (I hope you've got an extra shirt in that day bag!)

The ban includes ANY camouflage item -- clothing, purses, hats, scarves, etc.

What about pink camo? Nope. No camouflage of any color.

What about your lucky camo wallet? You'd better find somewhere else to store your credit cards. They'll be taking that wallet.

Your bet bet when visiting the Caribbean? Leave those camo items home!
